Dichter May Run for Kadima Leadership
Internal Security Minister Avi Dichter said in a weekend interview that he was considering running for leadership of Kadima. Dichter said he had not made up his mind, but would wait to see what developments brought in the corruption case against Prime Minister Ehud Olmert.
A poll by Israel Radio Thursday said that 62% of Israelis wanted Olmert to step down – with 52% of Kadima members saying the same thing. When asked who they wanted to take Olmert's place if he did quit, 44% of Israelis said they preferred Foreign Minister Tsipi Livni.
