Ahlama Peretz to Run for Mayor of Sderot
(IsraelNN.com) Ahlama Peretz has announced that she plans to run for mayor of the city of Sderot, according to Yediot Acharonot. Her husband, former defense minister and Labor party head Amir Peretz, began his career in politics when he was elected as Mayor of Sderot in 1984.
Mrs. Peretz told reporters she could bring positive change to the city, and would “fight for every child.” She has plans to bring “a new relationship with our neighbors in the Gaza strip,” she said.
