Ashkelon Siren was Turned Off Following MI Opinion

(IsraelNN.com) The early warning siren that was supposed to warn of the missile attack on Ashkelon today was turned off in the early afternoon because Military Intelligence said there was a low probability of an attack on Ashkelon Wednesday.

According to Channel 1 news, the Home Front representatives in the security discussion voiced their opinion that an attack by Gaza terrorists was likely because of President George W. Bush's visit. However, they were overruled by Military Intelligence.

The siren was turned off following some false alarms which caused panic in the city.
