Bush: The Holy Land Is Special To Me

(IsraelNN.com) Ben Gurion told welcoming dignitaries at Ben Gurion Airport a few minutes that ago that "the Holy Land is special" to him and that he considers the Israeli people "our close friends." His two-minute speech concluded the welcoming ceremony, which was opened with the IDF band playing the Star Spangled Banner and HaTikva.

Prime Minister Ehud Olmert told him that the principles of Israel are based on the American Declaration of Independence. President Bush said that both countries share "freedoms given by the Almighty." President Peres told his counterpart, "Welcome to the new Israel, that after 3,000 years now is 60 years old."
