Army and police helicopters are hovering over Ben Gurion Airport at this hour, and the terminal is swarming with armed security officers in preparation for the arrival of American President George W. Bush at approximately 11 a.m. Hundreds of policeman have been deployed outside the terminal and in Jerusalem, and sharpshooters have taken positions on rooftops around the airport.
Fifteen American Air Force helicopters are waiting on the ground to escort the President from the airport to Jerusalem. His armored black Cadillac was flown to Israel and will escort him around Jerusalem, where he will be staying at the King David Hotel.
Motorists are advised to avoid driving in the center of Jerusalem because of prohibitions on traffic while the President is in the capital.
