Report: Latest Olmert Case Linked to Other Allegations

(IsraelNN.com) The latest investigation into Prime Minister Ehud Olmert’s dealings could shed light on previous cases as well, according to a Jerusalem Post report based on statements from former chief police investigator Moshe Mizrahi. Mizrahi explained that the latest investigation uncovered evidence that could be used against Olmert in a second investigation that probed alleged illegal benefits granted by Olmert to his friend and former law partner Uri Messer.

Testimony collected in the latest investigation implies that Messer distributed funds to Olmert, Mizrahi said, making allegations that Olmert illegally intervened on Messer’s behalf during his term as Minister of Industry, Trade, and Labor even more serious. “Olmert is in very serious trouble. It’s not looking good for him,” Mizrahi concluded.
