Prime Minister Ehud Olmert spoke at President Shimon Peres's Tomorrow Conference Tuesday night.

Olmert spoke about the importance of education to maintaining Israel's excellence.

"Education, from primary school to higher education, must be made a top priority," Olmert said. He said that investing in education will make the Israel of tomorrow worthwhile.

Though booed when he first entered the conference hall, Olmert garnered applause from young people by praising the Birthright and Masa programs, each of which has scores of representatives in the hall.
