Saudi Arabia Foreign Minister Prince Saudi Al-Faisal told the Arab League in Cairo that Hizbullah leader Hassan Nasrallah is like former Prime Minister Ariel Sharon because "both invaded Beirut." Sharon ordered the IDF into Lebanon during the Peace for the Galilee campaign, which is referred to as the first war in Lebanon, when he was Defense Minister in the 1980s.

The Saudi Foreign Minister also warned that "Iran is managing [the] war and Hizbullah is looking to impose Islamic rule on all of Lebanon, like in Iran." He called on the Arab world to use force, if necessary, to prevent Hizbullah from toppling the Lebanese government.
