Chavez Calls German Chancellor "Nazi Descendant"
(IsraelNN.com) Venezuelan dictator Hugo Chavez slammed German Chancellor Angela Merkel Sunday, calling her a "political descendant of Hitler and of German fascism."
Merkel has been outspoken in the past about Israel's right to exist and right to defend itself against Arab terrorists, and has been critical of Arab and Iranian threats to "wipe Israel off the map."
Since being elected president of Venezuela in 1998, Chavez has moved to consolidate power and suppress dissent in the South American country, and corruption and nepotism is believed to be rampant. Human rights organizations have also been strongly critical of Chavez.
