Poll: 59% Say Olmert Should Quit

(IsraelNN.com) According to a poll conducted by Dahaf for Yediot Acharonot, 59 percent of Israeli adults believe that Prime Minister Ehud Olmert should resign in light of recent allegations of financial misconduct. Sixty percent said Olmert’s ability to lead would be negatively impacted by the latest charges against him.

Sixty percent said they did not believe Olmert when he denied having taken campaign contributions for his personal use. Only 22 percent said they did believe him. Twenty-six percent said the police and other law enforcement bodies were ganging up on Olmert, while 70 percent rejected that claim.
