Clashes Between Hizbullah and Druze Forces in Lebanon

(IsraelNN.com) Fierce fighting was reported between Hizbullah guerillas and pro-government loyalists supporting Druze leader Walid Jumblatt in Mount Lebanon, the central mountain range overlooking the Lebanese capital of Beirut at approximately 2:00 p.m. Sunday afternoon.

Hizbullah guerillas had accused Jumblatt's forces on Saturday of killing two of their terrorists and kidnapping a third. Security officials reported exchanges of machine gunfire and rocket-propelled grenades (RPGs) that began in Aytat. Fighting between pro- and anti-government forces was also reported in the northern port city of Tripoli, starting Saturday night and continuing into Sunday. Two people, including a woman were reported dead in those clashes, and at least five others were wounded.
