Approximately 100 Jewish residents of the Hevron region protested at the “sheep junction” on Sunday morning. Residents called on the government not to open the junction to Palestinian Authority Arabs. Instead, the government should implement a plan that would create an underpass for Arab use, they said.
Residents expressed concern that terrorists would renew their attacks on the junction were it to be opened. Several terrorist attacks at the site have killed three soldiers and wounded several others. The government recently promised United States officials that it would remove a roadblock and allow PA Arab access to the junction despite the dangers.
