Protest against Removal of Key Roadblocks near Hevron

Approximately 100 protestors are demonstrating at this hour at the "sheep junction" south of Hevron, a key roadblock which the government promised American Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice it would open up to Arab traffic. Southern Hevron Hills Regional Council leader Tzviki Bar Chai called on residents to protest and noted that Arab terrorists have carried out numerous terrorist attacks at the junction.

Defense Minister Ehud Barak previously has promised that he would not remove any roadblocks if doing so would endanger security. Previous terrorist attacks at the intersections killed three army soldiers and wounded dozens of others.
