The Palestinian Authority (PA) has accused Israel of ruining its attempts to maintain law and order in Jenin by staging a counterterrorist operation days after the PA deployed armed policemen in the city, located south of Afula. Army soldiers left the city without making any arrests.
PA security services commander Diab Al-Ali told he Bethlehem-based Maan news agency that the incursion was intended to obstruct PA efforts to show it can control terrorism.
