Bank HaPoalim controlling shareholder Sari Arison, Israel's wealthiest woman, said Wednesday that she initiated the idea that profitable Israeli companies contribute to charity. "In the beginning, they did not understand what I want," she told the Hebrew newspaper Yediot Aharonot. "They thought I was not normal."
She stated that there is no rich Israeli today who does not donate to charity, "and the change occurred because of my vision."
