"The enemies of Israel divide into two camps--the left and the Muslims," according to Daniel Pipes, a columnist, director of the Middle East Forum and distinguished visiting fellow at the Hoover Institution of Stanford University. Writing in the Canadian National Post, Pipes said that the extreme right is a minor third enemy. He explained that the left is not a force by itself but is an "auxiliary for the primary anti-Zionist actor, which is the Muslim population."
He also wrote that no nation in the world faces the array of threats facing Israel--weapons of mass destruction, terrorism, internal subversion, economic blockade, demographic assault and ideological undermining.
