A suspect has been arrested in the murder of Israeli tourist Tamar Shahak, local Peruvian papers reported Wednesday.  Tamar, a 22-year-old former Army Radio employee, was killed late last week near the city of Arequipas.

Police initially believed that Shahak was killed during a robbery.  However, further investigation revealed that she was apparently raped by at least two men and then strangled.
