Ma'ariv Holdings, the publisher of the Ma'ariv daily newspaper, is being forced to fire 10 percent of its employees by the end of the year, Globes business news reports.
At the end of 2007, Ma'ariv employed 2,710 employees, meaning about 270 people will be layed off.
The print paper has suffered a drop in advertising revenue, possibly due to the rise in free commuter papers with large distribution figures.
