Jerusalem dog owners are advised to prepare their pets for the annual fireworks on Yom HaAtzmaut (Independence Day) Wednesday night. The explosions cause the dogs to run in panic in different directions, resulting in complaints to Jerusalem officials about dogs that have been run over or simply gotten lost.
City veterinarians recommend that dog owners tie their pets thoroughly and place them inside during the fireworks.
