Report: Rabbi Amar to Overturn Controversial Ruling

Chief Sephardi Rabbi Shlomo Amar, who serves as president of the Supreme Rabbinical Court, plans to overturn a ruling that called all conversions performed by Rabbi Chaim Druckman since 1999 into question, according to Haaretz. Rabbi Druckman is a leading figure in the national religious movement. The conversions were questioned after an Ashdod rabbinical court ruled that a woman who converted under Rabbi Druckman’s auspices was not Jewish because she had never intended to keep Jewish law.
