Hirschson is accused of plotting to steal funds from the National Workers' Union which he was chairman of between 1998 and 2005. His co-conspirators, who are also charged, were Ovadia Cohen, head of the National Workers Federation's finance department, and chief accountant Gideon Ben-Tzur.

Another suspect, Yitzhak Ruso, was the National Workers' Union director at the time. The group, which also included Amazia Boner, accountant of an organization named Nili, stole a total of NIS 4 million, more than half of which went to Hirschson.
