US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice met with Defense Minister Ehud Barak in her hotel room in Jerusalem at approximately 8:30 a.m. Sunday morning.
The meeting was held ahead of one with Palestinian Authority Prime Minister Salam Fayyad scheduled to follow shortly after. Rice reportedly plans to exert heavy pressure on Israeli officials to further weaken security measures protecting Israeli citizens against terrorism emanating from PA-controlled territories.
