Islamic Jihad Refuses to Sign Ceasefire Deal

The Islamic Jihad terrorist organization has said it will not sign the tahadiyeh, or "calm" agreement brokered by Egyptian security officials with Palestinian Authority terrorists in Gaza, despite much-publicized claims by Egypt that all 12 terror groups have agreed to the deal.

Nonetheless, said Islamic Jihad deputy terror chief Zeyad al-Nakhala, "We will not be the first to violate or undermine it, and we will give a chance for the reopening of [Gaza's border] crossings and alleviating the suffering of our people." A number of other factions were equally conditional in their agreements to the deal, which Egypt expects Jerusalem to accept unconditionally.

Egyptian security chief Omar Suleiman is expected to arrive in Israel shortly to receive  the government's official response to the proposal.
