More than 30 gravestones were discovered vandalized in a Jewish cemetery in Berlin early Tuesday, an act slammed by Mayor Klaus Wowereit who called the "blatant act of anti-Semitism... detestable."

Wowereit called on German citizens to stand up against anti-Semitism and racism and urged police to capture the criminals as soon as possible.
