The University of Haifa is conducting a study on the effects of Kassam rocket attacks on Holocaust survivors living in Sderot and other Gaza Belt communities. Thus far, 35 senior citizens have participated in the research.

According to Professor Ariella Levenstein, many of those who live in the region report experiencing flashbacks from World War II, as well as suffering from loneliness, irritability, fear, stress and anxiety.
