Knesset Speaker Dalia Itzik is expected to welcome new Shas Knesset Member Rabbi Mazor Bayana on Wednesday, who will be replacing former Shas MK Shlomo Benizri. The Speaker has been on a trip to the US.
Legal authorities in the Knesset were called upon to determine whether in fact the neighborhood rabbi would be able to serve in the parliament; however, they did find a precedent and it is believed Itzik will approve the ruling when she returns to the Knesset Wednesday.
