Ten North Koreans died in the alleged Israeli bombing of a probable nuclear site in northern Syria last September, according to the Japanese public NHK broadcasting network. South Korean intelligence officials were cited as the source of the information.

NHK said the dead included officials of a Communist party unit that exports weapons and military technology and members of the North Korean military unit involved in building the facility. In addition, two of three North Koreans survived the strike, but no details were available concerning their whereabouts or fate.
