Dan Gillerman, Israeli envoy to the United Nations, lashed out at former American President Jimmy Carter Thursday and called him a "bigot…with bloody hands" after he shook hands last week with Hamas leader Khaled Mashaal. Carter's visit aroused anger among officials in both the Israeli and American governments, which have boycotted the outlawed terrorist party that is supported by Iran and Syria.
Gillerman said the discussions in Damascus represented "a very sad episode in American history" and was a "shame." He viewed Syria, along with Iran and the Hamas and Hizbullah terrorist groups which they sponsor, the "main axes of terror and evil in the world."
