The foreign ministers of Syria and Iran met in Tehran Wednesday to discuss "mutual interests, including Lebanon, Gaza, Iraq and Israel."

Syria's Walid al-Moualem and Iran's Manouchehr Mottaki called for continued Syrian involvement in domestic Lebanese politics, called on the international community to intervene on behalf of the Hamas government in Gaza and discussed ongoing economic ties between the two countries.
