The governmental Council for Regulation of Betting on Sports (the 'Toto'), which regulates betting on soccer games, has decided to fund a comprehensive program for supporting Sderot and the Gaza Perimeter communities.

The Council announced that it sees sport and sport facilities as a primary educational value and a great way to relieve stress and create an alternative routine. The aid will total NIS 15 million and half of it will be spent in Sderot. The other half will be divided among the four regional councils adjoining Gaza.

The plan includes the building of reinforced gymnasiums in Sderot and the Shaar HaNegev council, and the renovation of existing sport facilities.
