The Hamas, Popular Front and Islamic Jihad parties received 50 percent of the vote in the Ramallah-based Birzeit University student elections, matching support for the Fatah party. Hamas, which won a majority a year ago, charged Fatah officials with raiding Hamas student offices and confiscating documents.

The terrorist party also accused Palestinian Authority security forces, who operate under the direction of Fatah leader Mahmoud Abbas, of threatening families of opposition members.
