Iranian Official: IAEA Meetings Went Well (IsraelNN.com) Iranian officials said Tuesday their meetings with a senior official from the United Nations' International Atomic Energy Agency went well. IAEA Deputy Director Olli Heinonen has been discussing Iran's uranium enrichment and other nuclear development activities with the nation's nuclear scientists in Tehran this week. Israel and the US believe the Islamic Republic is in the midst of building a nuclear weapon. Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad recently announced the addition of 6,000 centrifuges to the already-working 3,000 centrifuges at the Natanz nuclear plant, despite several rounds of international sanctions against the Islamic Republic imposed by the UN in an effort to persuade Iran to end the program. ![]() © A7 Syndications - This article may not be republished freely.
