Prime Minister Ehud Olmert has said that he does not rule out the possibility of a merger between his Kadima party and the Labor party, according to Maariv. Labor party officials said earlier in the week that they were holding talks about the possibility of a merger.
A Kadima-Labor merger would make it possible for the parties to defeat Likud, senior members of the Labor party explained. Officials in Likud and Yisrael Beiteinu (Israel Our Home) said that if Labor and Kadima were to join forces, their parties would consider a merger as well.
