(IsraelNN.com) Israeli Arab Knesset Member (United Arab List-Ta'al) Ahmed Tibi met in Doha with Qatari Emir, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani Tuesday morning for informal talks on Israel's situation with the Palestinian Authority and political issues vis a vis Israel's Arab population.

Qatar maintains no diplomatic ties with Israel, but has in the past maintained quiet back channel communications with Israeli officials on various issues nonetheless.The anti-Israel Aljazeera satellite news network is based in the oil-rich Gulf nation and there has been some question in the past about whether millions of dollars in funds allegedly meant to relieve poverty in Gaza actually reached that population, or instead were diverted to the Hamas terrorist organization.
