Two major international airlines have announced a merger that may affect commercial traffic and competition for other airlines flying to and from Israel.
The boards of Delta Airlines and Northwest Airlines announced the merger late Monday night, creating the world’s largest airline. Delta Airlines is one of several carriers that have a reciprocal agreement with El Al Israel Airlines.
The newly-merged airlines will fly under the Delta banner, with headquarters and hub remaining in Atlanta, GA. The Delta CEO will remain in place, as well.
