A human rights group has charged the Israel Security Agency (Shin Bet) with using illegal methods to torture Arab terrorists, but the agency said the charges were exaggerated. The Public Committee Against Torture in Israel submitted a report to the Knesset on Sunday, claiming that security officials arrested relatives of terrorists in order to force them to confess.
Security officials replied that they used the method "only on one occasion." They added they have made mistakes in using illegal procedures and have repaired them in keeping with decisions by the High Court.
