Fans of the Betar Jerusalem soccer team ran wild on the field at Teddy Stadium Sunday and forced officials to cancel the game minutes before it was scheduled to end. Betar Jerusalem, owned by Russian-born billionaire Arcadia Gaydamak, was leading Maccabi Herzliya 1-0.
Gaydamak called the rioters “bastards.” The Israel Football Association said the team will face a league court ruling. Police said they did not interfere because doing so would have endangered the lives of those on the field.
