(IsraelNN.com) The government approved a decision Sunday to enlarge by 5,000 the quota of construction workers allowed to enter Israel from PA territory in Judea and Samaria. Contractors' Association Director Yossi Gordon noted that the quota prior to the decision was 14,200 workers, and said the decision was "an injection of oxygen" for the construction sector.

Gordon told Nfc that the construction sector is recovering and new projects are being launched but the number of non-PA foreign workers has diminished to 8,000. He noted that the association is also encouraging contractors to employ Jews after IDF service.

The decision by the cabinet was made in defiance of recommendations by the security establishment and the Finance Ministry to prefer Jews for construction jobs.
