Gaza power plant director Rafik Maliha said Saturday that the plant would be forced to shut down in just two or three days if Israel did not resume fuel deliveries to the area. The plant provides fuel to approximately 500,000 people, he said.
Israel stopped fuel deliveries last week following a fatal terrorist attack on the Nahal Oz fuel terminal. IDF Colonel Nir Press, who coordinates humanitarian aid transfers in the Gaza region, said Saturday that almost one million liters of fuel have been transferred into Gaza but left in place by Hamas, which has chosen not to distribute the fuel in order to create a false gas shortage in the region.
