An Arab man with Israeli citizenship attempted to run down a Border police officer on Saturday.   The incident took place at a police checkpoint outside the northern village of Tuba-Zangariyye. 

The driver managed to escape into the village.  Police who entered to look for him were attacked by local residents, who pelted them with rocks.  No injuries were reported.
