Foreign and local tourists have booked rental cars at a record pace for the Passover and Independence Day holidays, according to Car Rental Israel marketing director Ofir Cohen. Hotels also have reported almost full occupancy rates for 60th anniversary celebrations. Cohen said that the car rentals are for longer periods than usual and that other bookings have been made three months in advance.
Reflecting a sharp rise in tourism, airlines have added flights and added Israel to their destination lists.
