'Variety' to Buy Knesset Protester Wheelchairs

(IsraelNN.com) Variety Israel, a non-profit organization which assists children with special needs, has informed Knesset Speaker Dalia Itzik that it will help buy special wheelchairs for the children whose mother threatened to commit suicide outside the Knesset Sunday. The organization will also help the family purchase other equipment.

The children, who are 17 and 19 years old, suffer from CP. Their father died of cancer a few years ago, and their mother has been struggling to raise them, but has encountered bureaucratic red tape.

According to Channel 2, one of the children fell from his wheelchair Sunday morning and broke his teeth. He had to be hospitalized. Following the accident, his mother drove to the Knesset and threatened to kill herself along with the other child.
