National Union-National Religious Party Knesset Member Effi Eitam slammed Israeli Arab MK Ahmed Tibi (United Arab List - Ta'al) on Thursday for his trip to an enemy country, warning that Tibi might be following in his former Arab Israeli MK colleague's footsteps.
Former MK Azmi Bishara fled the country last year as he was was set to be indicted for providing aid to an enemy -- Hizbullah -- during wartime. Tibi stopped in Beirut Wednesday night after a visit with Yemen's president to discuss a reconciliation attempt between the Fatah and Hamas factions in the Palestinian Authority. He was heading to Jordan following the visit.
"Bishara's footsteps started with seemingly innocent visits to enemy countries and ended with exposing secrets to Hizbullah," noted Eitam.
