The date of Palestinian Authority Chairman and Fatah leader Mahmoud Abbas (Abu Mazen)'s visit to Washington has apparently changed.
US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice told reporters last weekend during her trip to the Middle East that Abbas would be in Washington for talks with President George W. Bush and other US officials on April 7.
White House officials announced Thursday, however, that the date for his visit will be April 23. The announcement came the day after the PA chairman met with Jordanian King Abdullah II and Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak in Cairo.
