Arabs and left wing activists joined forces Wednesday near Kedumim in an effort to take over a hilltop community that Israeli forces destroyed several hours earlier. Jewish nationalists returned to the site, from which they have been evacuated several times, in order to rebuild it.
The two groups clashed and nationalists charged that security forces blocked their return with excessive violence. The left-wing Yesh Din organization accused Border Police of not interfering while the Jewish group, who allegedly beat the left-wing activists and Arabs although the same authorities previously evacuated the nationalists.
