Several government politicians are attempting to make the public forget that the Winograd Committee report on the Second Lebanon War ever existed, committee member Prof. Yechezkiel Dror told the Knesset State Control Committee Monday. He said the government has taken several steps to implement the committee's recommendations but "there is much more to be done," particularly concerning suggested reorganization of security committees.
Government Cabinet Secretary Oved Yechezkiel replied that the government is progressing in carrying out the committee's recommendations. The report on the military and government's conduct of the war did not blame individuals for failures and was milder in its criticism of Prime Minister Ehud Olmert than its interim report that was issued almost a year ago.
