US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice told reporters Sunday morning in Jerusalem that she hopes to be able to "do some things, or that Israel and the [Palestinians] will be able to do some things, that are meaningful both for security (for Israel) and for economic viability (for the Palestinian Authority)."
Rice met with reporters at a joint news conference following her meeting with Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni in the capital. She is expected to lead three-way talks with Defense Minister Ehud Barak and PA Prime Minister Salam Fayyad, and then with Livni and PA chief negotiator Ahmed Qureia as well before leaving for a visit to Jordan.
