'Israel Today' Adding Pages, Cites Ad Demand

(IsraelNN.com) 'Israel Today,' a newspaper distributed free of charge and owned by businessman Sheldon Adelson, will expand its size from 32 to 48 pages after the Pesach holiday, a source in the paper's staff said Friday. The source told Nfc that while it was true an increase in the paper's size had been planned for 2008 anyways, a spike in demand for advertisements led to a decision to carry it out earlier than planned.

According to data published by advertising studies company Yifat, the paper sold 18,000 inches of advertising in February, compared to 16,500 inches in January.

Adelson is considered close to Likud leader Binyamin Netanyahu.
