Pope Feasts on Kosher Bakery Biscuits
(IsraelNN.com) Pope Benedict's favorite cake shop is the Limentani Pasticerria kosher bakery in Rome that provides him with almond and cinnamon biscuits and "Jewish pizza," a hard cake with candied fruits, almonds and pine nuts. The bakery is located in the Jewish neighborhood of Rome and is popular among Roman politicians.
Bakery owner Vilma Limentani said the Pope was attracted to the bakery when his doctor brought him a bag of almond and cinnamon biscuits. She pointed out that she uses no saturated animal fats in her baked goods, leaving the Pope free to indulge without fear of high cholesterol.
