The Hebrew newspaper Makkor Rishon-HaTzofeh charged in an editorial that a Yediot Aharonot newspaper report, citing "unnamed security sources" critical of State Comptroller and Ombudsman Micha Lindenstrauss, represents collusion with Prime Minister Ehud Olmert. The unnamed sources criticized Lindenstrauss for creating problems in national security by his planned release of a report on the government's role in trying to free jailed Pentagon worker Jonathan Pollard, convicted of passing to Israel classified documents.
In other editorials, Yediot Aharonot also suggests that Arab leaders called off the usual general strike on Land Day because of "apathy on the street."
